Our goal at MINUS-8 is to deliver the most dependable watches under $500. We’ve been designing and building timepieces since 2013 and are on a mission to push watch design forward while creating high-quality, affordable timepieces our customers are proud to own.

Over the last 10+ years we’ve watched new brands come and go (everyone thinks it’s easy to launch a watch company) and we’ve seen hundreds of iterations of the same legacy timepieces (how many submariner copies can the market really handle?). The sub-$500 watch market has been evolving, but not in the right ways. We’ve watched product quality deteriorate and design innovation remain stagnant. This lack of focus from brands in the space inspires us to keep pushing the boundaries of watchmaking and deliver quality timepieces that you can depend on.

MINUS-8 does not exist to make small iterations to classic watch designs and call it innovation. We’re not here to sell you a watch that falls apart or needs to be replaced in a year. We are designing the future of watches, using premium materials and advanced manufacturing techniques to create original, reliable timepieces that are built to last.

Our belief is that you should be able to get ultra-reliable watches with original designs, for under $500. Since we couldn’t find options available in the market that met our criteria, we decided to build a watch company and do it ourselves. 

As we continue our small business journey, I look forward to sharing more details with you about our approach, decision making process and why we build products the way we do. Hopefully this shines some light on what makes MINUS-8 special.
